Customers
A customer is a person or company you do work for and may bill. Every contract, time entry, and invoice links to a customer.
Add a customer
- Open Customers in the menu.
- Tap New customer (or similar add button).
- Fill in what you know:
- Name (required) — how you refer to them on invoices.
- Email — for your records; used when you send invoices outside the app.
- Phone and address — optional but useful on formal invoices.
- Notes — anything you want to remember (payment terms, main contact, etc.).
- Save.
You can mark a customer inactive later if you stop working together. Inactive customers stay in history but are easy to skip when creating new work.
Service agreement (optional)
Some businesses keep a signed master services agreement (MSA) on file. If your setup supports it, you can attach a PDF on the customer record and set an agreement date. This is for your records — not required for day-to-day time and invoicing.
What comes next
After you have a customer, add a contract — the specific deal you bill under (monthly retainer, fixed project, etc.). You need at least one contract before the work timer and most billing features behave as expected.
Tips
- One customer can have multiple contracts (e.g. a monthly retainer plus a separate one-off project).
- Use clear customer names — they appear on invoices and reports.
- Keep email and address current before generating a PDF invoice for a client.
