Home screen and work timer
The home screen (tap the logo or open your site root URL) is your daily dashboard. It shows this month and gives you the work timer.
This month at a glance
You will see:
- Hours per contract — how many billable hours you used compared to your included cap (if your contract has one). Green means room left; warnings appear when you are near or over the cap.
- Total billable hours — all contracts combined this month.
- Expenses recorded — dollar total of business expenses this month (not including mileage math separately; mileage has its own section).
- Mileage — number of trips, miles, and estimated deduction using the IRS standard rate shown on screen.
- Open invoices — drafts and sent bills still waiting for payment.
If a section shows zero, you may need to add a contract or log time first.
Work timer — when to use it
The timer is for active, billable work on a client project — design sessions, site visits you are working at, calls where you are delivering work, etc.
Start the timer when you begin focused work. Pause when you stop working but might come back later the same day (lunch, waiting on a callback). End work and save time when you are done and want a row in your time log.
Only time while the timer is running counts toward billable hours. Paused time does not count — that is intentional, so waiting on email does not inflate your hours.
How to start
- On the home screen, find Work timer.
- Choose the contract (client + project name) from the list.
- Tap Start work.
While you are working
- Tap Pause if you step away; tap Resume when you continue.
- Optionally write recap notes — a short description of what you did. These carry over when you save the time entry.
When you finish
- Tap End work and save time.
- Review billable hours — adjust if you rounded down or need to fix something.
- Edit the description if needed (what you worked on).
- Leave Billable checked unless this session should not be billed.
- Tap Save to time log.
Your entry appears under Time and counts toward this month on the dashboard.
Cancel without saving
Cancel session throws away the timer session without creating a time entry. Use this if you started the timer by mistake.
Tips
- If you forget the timer, you can always add time manually.
- One timer runs at a time. End the current session before starting another contract.
- The timer needs at least one active contract. Add one under Contracts if the list is empty.
